Shazia's new book Did You Know? illustrates fifteen biographies of successful people in various fields of work, ten from the past and five, including Ikram, who are still alive today.
Ikram, who played for Leeds and Huddersfield Rugby League s
ides, is now the founding director of the British Asian Rugby Association and is thrilled to be included in the new book.
He told Asian Leader: "It's a real honour for me. There are so many great individuals who have been picked for Shazia's book and it's a great chance for kids to be inspired by the progress of others.
"As a rugby man it's also pleasing to show youngsters what a great sport it is to get involved in."
The book, aimed at 9-13 year old will be used by schools as part of the national curriculum and fills a real gap in children's learning, by providing examples of Black and Asian success stories
