Former England Rugby League international Ikram Butt from Leeds has been singled out by Huddersfield author Shazia Azhar in her new book highlighting inspirational Black and Asian achievers.

Shazia's new book Did You Know? illustrates fifteen biographies of successful people in various fields of work, ten from the past and five, including Ikram, who are still alive today.
Ikram, who played for Leeds and Huddersfield Rugby League s
ides, is now the founding director of the British Asian Rugby Association and is thrilled to be included in the new book.
He told Asian Leader: "It's a real honour for me. There are so many great individuals who have been picked for Shazia's book and it's a great chance for kids to be inspired by the progress of others.
"As a rugby man it's also pleasing to show youngsters what a great sport it is to get involved in."
The book, aimed at 9-13 year old will be used by schools as part of the national curriculum and fills a real gap in children's learning, by providing examples of Black and Asian success stories
Did You Know? follows the story of ten-year-old Naz, who acts as a time-travelling guide to characters ranging from scientists to spies, admirals to doctors and sports stars to newspaper editors.
The book also features Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham and ex-Kick boxer Dr Lance Lewis.
