Schoolgirls from around Rochdale were joined by two stars of women's football to kick start a football festival on 7 December.

Hopwood Hall College hosted the Girls Football Festival and girls attended from Brimrod Primary, Broadfield Primary, Belfield Community, St Peter's Primary and Ashfield Valley Primary.
Football role models Sue Smith, an England women's International player and Hong-Hong, the most capped female player for the China national team were joined by the Lord Mayor of Rochdale.
The day involved skills sessions including dribbling, passing and shooting, allowing pupils to demonstrate what they could do.
Pupils then participated in games, playing in six or seven aside teams following normal football rules.
Every girl participating received a football and free admission to Rochdale FC's home game on 13 January.
