Bradford Thai-boxer Ibrahim Hussain came through a tough contest in Stockport to record his third successive victory on 15 December.

Hussain, 20, featured in the last issue of Asian Leader, says he was temporarily blinded in the first few minutes of this three round contest against the local Stockport fighter.
"The guy had Thai-oil in his hair, so when we grappled, it rubbe
d in my eyes and I couldn't see a thing," Hussain told Leader.
Dave Croft, Hussain's experienced trainer, added: "Thai-oil is often used by fighters, but just on the body and it should be wiped down before the fight. I didn't know people were still using it like here to gain an advantage.
"Ibrahim told the referee, who just waved play on, but he did well to recover and dominated the final two rounds, when his fitness and punching really shone through."
It was Hussain's fifth fight of the season and his third in the professional ranks. Although he still holds down a full-time job in Customer Support at Norwich Union in Bradford, Hussain trains five times a week at Bradford's Thai Boxing Gym on Killinghall Road and intends to make a real name for himself in the no-nonsense sport.
Hussain said: "Even when you win, this sport hurts. You pick up a lot of knocks and injuries, but I love it and am determined to progress a lot further."
Hussain is certainly in the right hands – his trainer Dave Croft already has women's Thai-boxing champion Rachael Jones, ranked number one in the world, on his books and he hopes Hussain can one day follow in her footsteps in the men's competition.
