Aisha Childcare in Longsight held a beach themed Big Breakfast on 14 July as part of National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Big Breakfast month.
Maryam Khan, the local councillor for Longsight, joined parents and children on "the beach", to cel
ebrate healthy eating and promote the high quality service day nurseries offer.
They put on their sunglasses, slapped on the sun cream and got out the beach towels to sit in the sun and enjoy breakfast. Staff and children
also decorated the outside area to give it a real summer feel.
Emma Perry, Assistant Director, said: "Aisha Childcare believes it is important children learn about the importance of healthy eating from an
early age.
"A nutritious breakfast in the morning sets both children and adults up for a busy day and we hope our own Big Breakfast illustrated this. Our event was a real opportunity for parents to enjoy breakfast with their children."
NDNA Big Breakfast month events are happening in nurseries across the country during July.
Pumima Tanuku, Chief Executive of NDNA adds: "The NDNA Big Breakfast month is now in its third year and we hope that more nurseries than ever will be taking part. Day nurseries have long recognised the role they play in giving children the best possible start in life."
