Community leaders are claiming the terror raids on 10 August have opened up a floodgate of race related crimes against the Asian community in various parts of the country.
The most shocking event took place on a holiday jet from Malaga in which two Asian youths were kicked out because of a passenger mutiny. Some passengers overheard the two men speaking what they took to be Arabic. They refused to board the plane,
while others already on board stormed off. Disgracefully the airline bowed to this pressure and called the police to escort the two Asian passengers, Sohail Ashraf and Khurram Zeb, both 22, off the plane.
In another incident, Syed Husain, a 65-year-old Londoner, was sightseeing in London with his sister and brother-in-law who were visiting from Dubai. He tried to board the London Eye on the South Bank of the Thames, but was prevented by the over zealous security staff because his sister was speaking Arabic.
Surprisingly, an Islamic emirate – Dubai, now owns the Eye. The Dubai Investment Group owns the Eye besides another major attraction Madame Tussauds in the capital.
Asian families in High Wycombe complained against the racist abuses they are facing on a daily basis since 10/8.
Dr Bari, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, the largest Islamic forum in Europe, said: "As Muslims we condemn attacks on civilians wherever they happen. Civilians in the UK, the Middle East and the rest of the world should all enjoy protection."
Khalid Mahmoud, a Labour Party MP, said the discrimination against Asians was "hugely irrational".
"You can't just accuse anybody who's of Asian appearance and treat them like a terrorist."
